Built in 1925, the Hospicio de San Jose is the first home for the aged in Cebu. The vast lands where the complex of houses and gardens now stand were donated by philanthropist Don Pedro Cui and his sister, Benigna Cui.

The structures are reminiscent of the designs of the American period. 

This two-hectare property in barangay Guibuangan has given pride to Barili, as it represents several decades of service and love for the less-fortunate elderly.
